Hello, my fabulous 4th graders!

I hope you all had an enjoyable break and are all healthy! While you were enjoying your days relaxing and helping clean the house, we teachers were very busy putting together many lessons that you can do right from your chair at home. Although I miss you all very much and wish I could teach you face to face right in our classroom, I want you all to stay safe and healthy. Thankfully, we live in a time where technology is incredible, and we can communicate over email, google classroom, google hangouts, and phone calls. Over the next few weeks, you will be using this blog and google classroom to watch videos on how to master different topics, get instructions, and maybe even do some of your homework. Please watch the video below to become acquainted with what you should be looking at/looking for many times over this distance learning period. Please remember that all the work that will be sent home needs to be done and sent back on the next pick up day or whenever I tell you you to send it back. All work will be graded, and you will receive a grade this way, just like if we were in school, so it is very important that you do the work neatly and to your best ability. Again, please watch the video below to familiarize yourself with important papers in your packets and essential websites you should be checking a couple of times a day. Lastly, please check this blog at least once a day to make sure you are staying up to date with all of our information.

Part 2:

PS: I am thinking of going live on google hangout some days of the week so we can all chat and talk about what we have been up to at this time; you will be able to ask any questions you may have as well. Let me know in google classroom. If this is something that you would like to do, I will start a discussion, and you can comment on the post with your thoughts.

Hello All!

After much research on trying to find the easiest way to communicate with each other, not just by phone or email, but by some means of virtual face to face communication I have decided that Google Hangouts would be the best and easiest for everyone.

Since you all already have google accounts you will just need to click the dots on the top and scroll down to the quotation marks that say Hangout. Watch the video for more detailed instructions.

Yes, we could just talk through email, Google Classroom, & phone, but wouldn't it be nice to have a conversation with many in our class at one time? We could tell each other what we have been up to, ask questions about the assignments assigned, and give ideas of what to do in the time when we are at home. I will work on getting times set up to join throughout the day and let you know what I get to put together. Remember, that none of this is 100% yet, I want to make sure it works for everyone first before I have whoever want to get together at a certain time. In the meantime, if you have any questions or want more information, let me know through email (maddie.brake@isd505.org), commenting on this blog, or by Google Classroom. I miss you all and I wish we could be seeing each other face to face, however, I am glad technology these days has so many options for us to use to communicate. Please keep staying active and reading at home!

Please let me know if you have any questions!
